Below are Olivia's wash day tips and tricks, to achieve long-lasting curl definition and shine.

1. Whipped Curl Shampoo

Apply a small amount to scalp and massage to create a lather. For a deeper cleanse, add more shampoo and massage from roots to ends and rinse. As curly people, we layer products on our hair throughout the week, so in order for the curls to stay healthy and clean, Olivia recommends shampooing all over the hair.

2. Mango Mask

After shampooing, apply a generous amount to your mid-lengths and ends. This is when Olivia likes to detangle her hair and get rid of knots. Leave the mask in for 5 to 10 minutes before rinsing. If your hair is extra dry or damaged, leave the mask in for 20 minutes then rinse.

3. Avocado Curl Cream

After the shampoo and mask is rinsed out, apply the cream to wet hair and leave in. For best results, section hair and apply generously to each section. The smaller the section, the more defined your curls will turn out. 

4. Juicy Curl Gel

After applying the Avocado Curl Cream, section the hair again and apply the jelly. For best results, use scrunching motions to set the curls and activate your ringlets. Air dry or diffuse to finish. 

If diffusing, make sure not to drag the diffuser on the hair as this will create frizz. Olivia likes to use medium heat and medium power with her diffuser. If you have damaged hair, we suggest using cool air only with your diffuser.

Curly aftercare tips:

After your wash day, there are steps you can take to help preserve your curls and prevent frizz. Such as:

- Sleeping on silk/satin pillowcase 

- Sleeping with a silk/satin hair scarf or bonnet

- Avoiding touching or tying up your hair

- Using hairspray to keep curls in place

- Refreshing the curls by spraying with water and using Avocado Curl Cream when needed
